About Electrolysis Clinic of Portland

Our office, in the Selling Building, is convenient to the bus mall, light rail, and parking. The clinic is located on Alder Street between Broadway and 6th Street. On the first floor is Spella Caffè. We are on the ninth floor in Suite 920. Directly across from us is the Star Park Alder Street Parking Garage.

About Sheila Ahern, LE, CPE

Sheila is a Licensed and Board Certified Electrologist. She has been an active member and either an elected or appointed participant in the Oregon Association of Licensed Electrologists and its national affiliate, the American Electrology Association. She has aided the state licensing program in various capacities. Sheila is a graduate of the Wilshire School of Electrolgy in Los Angeles and has been in practice since 1978.

About Irina McGaughey LE

Irina studied electrolysis at The Portland Aesthetic Institute. She moved to Portland from Russia in 2001. Irina graduated from medical school in Vladivostok, Russia in 1992 and practiced medicine for over 6 years as an Ob/Gyn. Irina cares about people and provides excellent service with knowledge and dignity. She speaks English and Russian.

Member of the American Electrology Association
The American Electrology Association (AEA), established in 1958, is the largest international nonprofit membership organization for permanent hair removal professionals. The AEA promotes the highest standards in Electrology education, practice and ethics and champions state licensing and regulation of the profession to protect the public interest. The American Electrology Association plays a key role in providing reliable and scientifically accurate information to its membership, the public, the medical community and government agencies.

Certified Professional Electrologist
The Certified Professional Electrologist (CPE) credential signifies that an electrologist's knowledge has been tested and measured against a national standard of excellence. A Certified Professional Electrologist goes above and beyond their initial training. The credential is voluntary and requires continuing education pursuits. Board certification keeps the electrologist aware of changes in the profession and gives them the tools to respond.

Member of Oregon Association of Licensed Electrologists
The Oregon Association of Licensed Electrologists, Inc. (OALE) was founded in 1972 to further the continuing education of electrologists. It provides interaction and communication through member newsletters and seminars for all electrologists. On a national level, OALE is an affiliate of the American Electrology Association (AEA), participating in its meetings and sharing its information with our members.
